You can walk through Allusion vanes when they’re closed, which you can’t really do with solid vertical slats.
Can I still use my patio doors with Allusion blinds closed?
Absolutely – that’s one of the main advantages. When the vanes are closed for privacy, you just walk straight through them. They part gently as you walk through and fall back into place behind you. You don’t need to open them or bunch them to the side first. This makes them brilliant for doors you use frequently – you get permanent privacy and light filtering without sacrificing easy access to your garden or patio.
Are Allusion blinds suitable for bedrooms?
They can work in bedrooms, but they’re not the best choice if you need total darkness for sleeping. They’re definitely more delicate than standard vertical blinds or roller blinds.
Will pets damage Allusion blinds?

The fabrics are more delicate than standard vertical blind louvres, so they need gentler handling. The mechanism and headrail will usually last longer than the vanes themselves. If you treat them carefully, don’t yank them about, and keep pets away from them, they’ll keep looking beautiful for years. The soft fabrics don’t fade as much as some materials because the sheer/opaque combination hides slight colour changes better than solid fabrics.
