Choose a blackout fabric to create a thermal blind that helps retain warmth and block out light, or opt for a light-filtering fabric to provide privacy while still allowing natural light into your space.

The system is completed with an integrated flyscreen mesh, available as either a single pleat or a stylish honeycomb voile. This allows fresh air to circulate freely through your home on warm days, while keeping nature’s little visitors firmly outside.

Choosing the Right Blockout Frame
Blockout performs exceptionally well across different setups. There are three frame options available (Frame 1, 2, and 3). For the best possible blockout—up to 98%—we recommend speaking with your advisor, who can guide you to the most suitable frame for your space.
Not Just for Summer
It’s easy to assume these blinds are mainly for warmer months, but that’s not the case. While they’re perfect for letting fresh air in during summer, they’re just as useful in winter. Even with windows closed, you can benefit from Blockout or Light Filtering fabrics, while voile or mesh options continue to provide privacy. Designed for year-round use, they can also help retain warmth during colder months.
Durable Mesh Design
The mesh fabric is strong and built to handle everyday use, including occasional knocks. However, as with any mesh material, we recommend avoiding contact with sharp objects to maintain its condition.
Simple Cleaning
Keeping your blinds clean is quick and easy. Use a vacuum with a soft brush attachment or gently wipe with a damp cloth to keep the mesh looking its best—no special treatments required.

With Blindscreen whats the difference between blockout and dimout blinds?
Whats the difference between blockout and dimout blind screens? Blockout blinds reduce light by approximately 91–98%, depending on the frame you choose—creating near-total darkness, ideal when you need a truly dark space. They’re perfect for shift workers, very light sleepers, or home cinema rooms where minimal light is essential. Dimout, also known as light filtering, is a great option for most bedrooms and living areas. It softens and reduces incoming light without completely blocking it out, allowing natural light to flow into the room while still maintaining privacy from outside. This product range is available in a selection of neutral tones. While the colour options are more limited, they’ve been carefully chosen to complement a wide variety of interiors—so you’re sure to find a shade that suits your space.
Can light still get through around the edges of the Blindscreen?
it really depends on the system you choose. With the standard Frame 1 and blockout fabrics, there may be small gaps at the sides, top, and bottom where the fabric doesn’t fully meet the frame, allowing a slight amount of light leakage. For a near-total blockout, the Frame 2 system is a great option. It’s designed to minimise gaps and deliver a much darker result—ideal if you’re aiming for true darkness. BlindScreen® systems also use four-sided channels, making them highly effective at reducing edge light on certain setups. If total darkness is essential, it’s best to speak with your advisor to find the right solution. If you’re happy with a very dark room and just a faint glow around the edges, we offer three frame options to suit your needs and help you achieve the perfect window covering solution.
Are Blindscreen good for keeping heat out in summer?
The Honeycomb Blockout fabric is particularly effective, especially with its white reflective backing, which helps bounce sunlight away from your windows. This can make a noticeable difference in rooms with south-facing windows or doors that receive strong afternoon sun, keeping the space much cooler without relying heavily on fans or air conditioning. In winter, they work in the opposite way by trapping heat inside and reducing heat loss through windows and doors. This makes them a smart, year-round solution for temperature control not just for blocking out light.
Can Blindscreen blinds be fitted to all window types?
Blockout blinds can be fitted to most window types. The BlindScreen® system is highly versatile and works with uPVC, timber, and aluminium frames. It can also be installed in a wide range of recessed environments, including tiled, steel, plastered, or wooden openings, thanks to its flexible face-fix or recess-fit mounting options. There are only a couple of situations where BlindScreen® may not be suitable namely inward-opening (tilt and turn) windows and unusually shaped designs such as curved or apex windows. However, there are alternative solutions available for these cases. When we carry out a measure, we’ll assess your windows and recommend the most suitable blockout system for your specific setup.
Can I use Blindscreen in bathrooms?
Yes, While there aren’t many colour options available, these blinds are specifically designed to perform great in open steamy environments. They are moisture resistant, making them a practical choice for areas like bathrooms depending on size. Standard blackout fabrics, however, can struggle with constant humidity. Over time, the foil backing may deteriorate or stick together when exposed to excessive moisture. For this reason, we don’t recommend using them in very small, high-moisture spaces or in areas where they’ll be exposed to direct and continuous water, such as inside a shower. In those conditions, they can remain damp and may develop mould. We’ll always assess the space and, if this product isn’t suitable, guide you towards a more appropriate alternative
