Day & Night blinds in Perfect Fit frames give you the best of both worlds – the flexible light control of Day & Night blinds combined with the no-drill convenience of Perfect Fit installation. The clever clip-on frames attach directly to your uPVC window beading without any holes, screws, or permanent fixtures, while the Day & Night fabric with its alternating transparent and opaque stripes lets you fine-tune privacy and light throughout the day. Perfect for rental properties where you can’t drill, conservatories with loads of windows, or anyone who wants modern style without committing to permanent installations.
Day & Night blinds (also called vision blinds or zebra blinds) work by having two layers of fabric with alternating sheer and opaque horizontal stripes. Roll the blind to align the stripes and you get filtered light with a view out. Offset the stripes and you block the view for privacy while still letting light through. Close them fully and you’ve got maximum coverage. Combined with Perfect Fit frames that clip onto your windows, you’ve got a sophisticated window covering that installs without any damage whatsoever.
The Perfect Fit frame is a slim aluminium frame (barely noticeable once installed) that clips over your existing window beading using clever plastic brackets. The Day & Night blind mechanism sits neatly inside this frame, and the whole thing moves with your window when you open it. This is brilliant for tilt-and-turn windows where traditional blinds would block the opening mechanism, or for doors where you want the blind to move with the door panel rather than being fixed to the wall.
With hundreds of fabric colours, patterns, and textures to choose from, you’ll find Day & Night fabrics to match any interior style – from clean whites and neutrals through to bold colours and contemporary patterns. The striped effect creates visual interest and modern style that plain roller blinds can’t match, while the light control flexibility means you’re not stuck choosing between bright or dark throughout the day.
Zero Damage Installation – Perfect Fit frames clip onto window beading—no drilling, screws, or damage. Installation is quick, making them ideal for rental properties (unclip them, get your full deposit back) and protecting new uPVC windows.
Flexible Light Control – Day & Night blinds offer infinite light control. Align the stripes for filtered brightness, offset them for privacy while maintaining light, or fully close them for darkness. Get the light perfect for any activity.
Modern Appearance – These blinds are stylish and contemporary, with horizontal stripes adding visual depth. The minimal Perfect Fit frame keeps the look neat, clean, and unobtrusive—no bulky hardware or side gaps.
Blinds Move With Your Windows – Attaching directly to the window, the blind moves when the window opens. Essential for tilt-and-turn windows (allowing ventilation without adjustment) and patio/French doors (maintaining light control and privacy while open).
Perfect for Conservatories – Excellent for conservatories with multiple windows. They install quickly without drilling the structure, operate independently, and their neat appearance and flexible light control handle intense sun and heat effectively.
Child Safe by Design – No dangling cords. Operation uses a contained side chain, or motorisation. The robust design is safer than traditional corded blinds, eliminating strangulation risks.
Privacy Without Losing Light – The key appeal. Offset stripes provide total privacy without blocking natural light thanks to sheer sections. Ideal for street-facing, ground-floor, or bathroom windows where you need brightness and seclusion.
Perfect Fit Day & Night Blinds Limitations
Perfect Fit uses clip-on frames that attach to uPVC windows without drilling. Perfectly Fitted is our own system that works on more window types, including timber, and it can navigate around obstacles. Freehanging blinds mount to the wall or ceiling above your window like traditional roller blinds. Perfect Fit and Perfectly Fitted blinds move with your window when you open it, while free-hanging blinds stay put. All three give you the same day & night functionality—it’s just different mounting methods depending on your windows and what you prefer.
Absolutely, that’s the whole point. The blinds attach to the window itself, so when you open your window, the blind moves with it. You don’t need to roll them up first or move them out of the way. It’s dead handy for tilt-and-turn windows where you need to tilt them in for cleaning or ventilation. With free-hanging blinds, you’d normally need to roll them up before opening the window, but with these systems, you just open the window as normal.
The fabric has alternating see-through and solid stripes. When you position the solid stripes to overlap, you get complete privacy – nobody can see in. When you offset them so the see-through stripes align, you get filtered light but still some privacy because of the stripe pattern. You can position them anywhere in between to get exactly what you need. At night with lights on inside, you’ll want the solid stripes aligned for proper privacy, but during the day you can have them more open to let natural light in.
They’re brilliant in bathrooms, especially if you go for the Perfect Fit or Perfectly Fitted options. The fabric is designed to cope with moisture, and because they sit close to the window, they don’t get in the way of your bathroom fixtures. Just make sure you pick a moisture-resistant fabric (we’ll advise you on that) and give them a wipe down occasionally if they get steamy. They’re perfect for bathroom windows where you want privacy, but you don’t want the room to feel like a cave.
Yeah, most of our Day & Night blinds can be motorised. It’s particularly good if you’ve got high windows or loads of blinds that you want to control together. You can get them with remote control operation, or we can set them up to work with Alexa or Google Home if you’ve got a smart home setup. Motorised blinds are child-safe by design too, which is a bonus. They cost a bit more than manual operation, but if you’ve got the budget for it, they’re really convenient.
Dead easy—just give them a light dusting with a feather duster or use your vacuum cleaner with the brush attachment on a low setting. If they get a bit grubby, you can wipe them down with a damp cloth. Don’t soak them or use harsh chemicals, though, as that can damage the fabric. The solid stripes usually show marks more than the see-through bits, so just keep an eye on them and give them a quick wipe when needed. They’re much easier to keep clean than curtains or Roman blinds.
Normal roller blinds are either up or down—when they’re down, you get privacy, but you block out all the light. Day & Night blinds give you way more control because of the two-layer stripe design. You can have them down for privacy while still letting light filter through, or you can adjust them for complete privacy when you need it. It’s like having a dimmer switch for your natural light rather than just an on/off switch. They’re a bit more expensive than basic roller blinds, but you get a lot more versatility.
Honestly, they work in pretty much any room. They’re brilliant in living rooms where you want to control glare on the telly without making the room dark. Perfect in bedrooms where you want flexibility—light in the morning, privacy at night. Great in kitchens and bathrooms where you need privacy but you don’t want to lose natural light. They’re popular in home offices too because you can adjust them throughout the day depending on screen glare. The only place we’d say think twice is if you need total blackout—in that case, proper blackout roller blinds or curtains might be better.
Motorisation – Louvolite battery motors add smart control (remote/app/voice via Alexa/Google Home) to Day & Night Perfect Fit blinds. Ideal for conservatories; adjust all blinds simultaneously. Motors charge via USB (6-12 month life); installation remains drill-free within the Perfect Fit frame.
Perfectly Fitted Upgrade – For windows incompatible with standard Perfect Fit, the Perfectly Fitted system offers similar installation with more frame colours (mahogany, oak, greys) and compatibility with more window types, including tricky ones.
Coordinate Multiple Windows – For multi-window installations (especially conservatories), coordinate fabric choices for visual consistency. Use the same fabric or vary light/dark fabrics based on sun exposure. We advise on cohesive design.
Combine With Roof Blinds – In conservatories, pair Day & Night Perfect Fit side blinds with pleated roof blinds for complete light and temperature control. Roof blinds manage overhead heat; side blinds offer flexible control/privacy. We offer complete conservatory solutions.
