Modern aluminium windows and doors have become increasingly popular in recent years, especially bi-fold doors that open up living spaces and bring more natural light into the home.
Designed specifically for this type of glazing, our CelluShade™ Stick-On system offers a clean, practical and refined solution where drilling into window or door frames is not suitable.
Instead of using screws, the system is fitted directly to the glass using high-strength adhesive side channels. This makes it an ideal option for aluminium bi-fold doors, sliding doors, and windows where customers want a neat finish without disturbing the frame or affecting warranties.
CelluShade™ Stick-On works particularly well on windows and doors with square beading. The bigger the bead, the cleaner the overall finish. When fitted onto larger beading, the system sits beautifully in place and gives a much more flush, built-in appearance.
From front to back, the system stands proud by approximately 38mm. For the best visual result, we recommend using it on bead depths of 38mm or more. It can also be fitted to smaller beads, but the finish will not appear quite as flush. The further the blind stands away from the bead, the more visible the fabric and internal details may become from certain angles.
This system is especially well suited to modern homes, open-plan spaces, bi-fold doors, aluminium windows, and large areas of glass where a normal fixing method may not be preferred.

Things Worth Knowing
Stick-On Is Intended As a Long-Term Installation: CelluShade™ Stick-On is designed to provide a secure, long-lasting fixing directly to the glass. The high-strength adhesive side channels create a strong bond that is intended to remain in place for the life of the blind. While the system can be removed if necessary, it is not designed to be removed and reinstalled elsewhere. For this reason, it is worth taking the time to ensure the chosen blind position, fabric, and specification are exactly right before installation.
Glass Surface Quality Matters: For the best results, CelluShade™ Stick-On should be fitted to clean, smooth, flat glass surfaces. The adhesive has been engineered to achieve excellent performance on standard glazing, but textured, heavily patterned, frosted, or specialist coated glass may affect adhesion. If you are unsure about the type of glass in your windows or doors, it is always advisable to check before ordering. This helps ensure the system performs exactly as intended and delivers the clean, secure finish it was designed for.
Best Suited To Square-Beaded Windows: CelluShade™ Stick-On performs particularly well on modern aluminium windows and bi-fold doors with square beading. Larger bead depths often create the most integrated appearance, allowing the blind to sit neatly within the glazing area and achieve a cleaner, more flush finish. The system can still be fitted to smaller beads, but the blind will naturally project further from the glass, making the fabric and internal components more visible from certain angles.
Not Suitable For Roof Windows Or Skylights: CelluShade™ Stick-On has been developed for vertical glazing applications such as windows, sliding doors, and bi-fold doors. It is not suitable for opening roof windows, skylights, roof lanterns, or other overhead glazing systems where different operating requirements and fixing methods are needed. What's the difference between all these pleated blind systems?
Whats the difference between all Pleated (Cellushade) Options how you want the blind to operate, and the look you want to achieve. Window-attached systems such as Perfectly Fitted Frameless, CelluShade™ Stick-On, and Perfect Fit Frames fit directly to the window or glass. The blind moves with the window, making these systems ideal for doors, tilt-and-turn windows, and modern glazing. Freehanging systems are fitted above the window, either inside a recess or onto the wall or frame. They can cover larger areas and suit almost any window type. For specialist glazing, dedicated systems are available:
LanternShade™ is designed for roof lanterns, skylights, and angled glazing, using tensioned operation to keep the fabric secure and neat. ApexShade™ is made for triangular, apex, and gable-end windows, allowing pleated blinds to fit complex shapes.

Can pleated blinds completely blackout a room?
If you pick proper blackout fabrics, yeah, they can. Not quite 100% pitch black like you’d get with thick curtains, but we’re talking 95%+ light blocking, which is enough for most people to sleep comfortably. The only place light might sneak through is at the very edges where the blind meets the frame, but with window-attached systems like Perfect Fit, even that’s minimal. For shift workers or anyone who needs serious darkness, we’d recommend blackout pleated blinds with a window-attached system rather than free-hanging. If you want absolute total darkness, you might need to combine them with blackout curtains, but on their own they’re usually sufficient.
Are pleated blinds suitable for bathrooms?
Absolutely. We fit loads of them in bathrooms. The key is picking a moisture-resistant fabric—we’ve got specific fabrics designed for steamy environments that won’t go moldy or discolored. The window-attached systems (Perfect Fit or Perfectly Fitted) are particularly good in bathrooms because they sit close to the window and don’t get in the way of sinks, taps, or tiles. The cellular structure actually helps prevent condensation from forming on your windows by creating an air gap. Just make sure you open the window after showers to let moisture out and give the blinds an occasional wipe if they get steamy.
Are Pleated Blinds Easy to Clean?
Absolutely. Pleated blinds are one of the easiest window coverings to maintain. If they remain in the same position for long periods, simply give them a light dusting with a feather duster or a soft microfibre cloth from time to time. The pleated fabric doesn’t tend to trap large amounts of dust, making routine cleaning quick and straightforward. If you notice any marks or small stains, gently dab the affected area with a damp cloth. Avoid scrubbing, soaking the fabric, or using harsh cleaning products, as this can damage the material and affect its appearance. Because pleated blinds stack into such a compact space when fully opened, they generally collect less dust than bulkier window coverings such as Roman blinds or curtains. With minimal cleaning and occasional dusting, pleated blinds will continue to look great for years.
Can Pleated Blinds Be Fitted to Unusually Shaped Windows?
Standard pleated blinds like this model are designed for regular windows and doors rather than unusual shapes. While pleated blinds are often known for their ability to cover shaped windows, that requires specialist shaped systems made specifically for triangles, arches, circles, and other non-standard designs. This particular system is best suited to standard Aluminium windows, doors, and glazed areas where a neat, made-to-measure fit is required.
What's the lifespan of pleated blinds?
Good quality pleated blinds should last 7-10 years minimum and often longer if they’re looked after. The mechanism is simple and robust—there’s not much to go wrong. The fabric can fade over time if it’s in direct harsh sunlight every day, but our quality fabrics are designed to resist fading. The cellular structure might compress slightly over the years if you’re constantly opening and closing them, but it takes ages for that to become noticeable. Treat them gently, keep them clean, and they’ll keep looking good and working properly for years. We’ve seen pleated blinds still going strong after 15 years.
Do pleated blinds work with smart home systems?
Some of them can, yeah. Certain free-hanging and roof-blind systems can be motorised with Somfy motors, which can then be connected to smart home hubs to work with Alexa, Google Home, and other smart home systems. You’d need to add a compatible hub, but once it’s set up, you can control your blinds with voice commands or through an app. It’s particularly useful for roof blinds that are hard to reach, or if you’ve got loads of conservatory blinds you want to control all at once. Motorised pleated blinds are child-safe by design too, which is a bonus. Not all systems can be motorised though, so ask us which ones work if that’s something you’re interested in.

Unlike standard single-layer pleated fabrics, Honeycell fabrics feature a unique double-layer cellular construction. These honeycomb-shaped pockets trap air within the structure of the blind, creating an additional insulating barrier between the room and the glass. This helps reduce heat transfer through the window and improves the overall thermal performance of the glazing.
During the colder months, this insulating layer helps retain warmth inside the home by reducing heat loss through the glass.
