The “frameless” aspect means there’s no visible frame around the blind like you’d get with standard Perfect Fit – instead, slim side channels guide the fabric and keep it taut, while the top and bottom components are as minimal as we can make them. The result is a blind that genuinely looks like it’s part of your window rather than something bolted on afterwards.

Things Worth Knowing
Requires Professional Assessment – Our proprietary Frameless system needs an in-person window assessment to confirm suitability and mounting approach. The assessment is free, and precise fitting is crucial.
Takes Time to Manufacture – Custom colour matching and components mean Frameless orders typically take 2-3 weeks from order to installation. This is a bespoke product, not off-the-shelf. What is the most important manufactured by us in the house.
Limited to Moderate Window Sizes – Frameless works well for standard domestic windows but has size limits for very large glazing due to minimal mounting support. We advise on maximum sizes during assessment.
Fabric Direction Matters – CelluShade Frameless blinds require careful handling to maintain their shape. Improper folding or forcing can damage the pleats’ crisp appearance.
Not Complete Blackout – Even with blackout fabric, minor light leakage occurs around the edges due to the minimal frameless design. It offers comfortable darkness for sleep but is not absolute blackout.
Colour Matching Is Very Good But Not Perfect – Component colour matching to your uPVC is usually excellent, though slight variations can occur due to paint batches, fading, or lighting. We provide samples before ordering. We also offer RAL powder coating service if you would like to make them even more bespoke.
Tension Systems Need Occasional Checking – The tensioned guides keeping the blinds taut may rarely need slight adjustment or component replacement over time due to thermal changes or movement. The system is designed for stability.

What's the difference between all these pleated blind systems?
Whats the difference between all Pleated (Cellushade) Options how you want the blind to operate, and the look you want to achieve. Window-attached systems such as Perfectly Fitted Frameless, CelluShade™ Stick-On, and Perfect Fit Frames fit directly to the window or glass. The blind moves with the window, making these systems ideal for doors, tilt-and-turn windows, and modern glazing. Freehanging systems are fitted above the window, either inside a recess or onto the wall or frame. They can cover larger areas and suit almost any window type. For specialist glazing, dedicated systems are available:
LanternShade™ is designed for roof lanterns, skylights, and angled glazing, using tensioned operation to keep the fabric secure and neat. ApexShade™ is made for triangular, apex, and gable-end windows, allowing pleated blinds to fit complex shapes.

Can pleated blinds completely blackout a room?
If you pick proper blackout fabrics, yeah, they can. Not quite 100% pitch black like you’d get with thick curtains, but we’re talking 95%+ light blocking, which is enough for most people to sleep comfortably. The only place light might sneak through is at the very edges where the blind meets the frame, but with window-attached systems like Perfect Fit, even that’s minimal. For shift workers or anyone who needs serious darkness, we’d recommend blackout pleated blinds with a window-attached system rather than free-hanging. If you want absolute total darkness, you might need to combine them with blackout curtains, but on their own they’re usually sufficient.
Are pleated blinds suitable for bathrooms?
Absolutely. We fit loads of them in bathrooms. The key is picking a moisture-resistant fabric—we’ve got specific fabrics designed for steamy environments that won’t go moldy or discolored. The window-attached systems (Perfect Fit or Perfectly Fitted) are particularly good in bathrooms because they sit close to the window and don’t get in the way of sinks, taps, or tiles. The cellular structure actually helps prevent condensation from forming on your windows by creating an air gap. Just make sure you open the window after showers to let moisture out and give the blinds an occasional wipe if they get steamy.
Are Pleated Blinds Easy to Clean?
Absolutely. Pleated blinds are one of the easiest window coverings to maintain. If they remain in the same position for long periods, simply give them a light dusting with a feather duster or a soft microfibre cloth from time to time. The pleated fabric doesn’t tend to trap large amounts of dust, making routine cleaning quick and straightforward. If you notice any marks or small stains, gently dab the affected area with a damp cloth. Avoid scrubbing, soaking the fabric, or using harsh cleaning products, as this can damage the material and affect its appearance. Because pleated blinds stack into such a compact space when fully opened, they generally collect less dust than bulkier window coverings such as Roman blinds or curtains. With minimal cleaning and occasional dusting, pleated blinds will continue to look great for years.
How do I clean pleated blinds?
Dead easy—just give them a light dust with a feather duster or use your vacuum cleaner with the brush attachment on a low setting. The pleats can trap a bit of dust, so run the vacuum or duster along the pleats every few weeks. If they get marks on them, you can very gently dab them with a damp cloth, but don’t scrub or soak them because you’ll damage the fabric. Avoid using any harsh chemicals or bleach. Because they stack up so small when they’re open, they collect less dust than Roman blinds or curtains, so they’re actually pretty low maintenance.
Can Pleated Blinds Be Fitted to Unusually Shaped Windows?
Standard pleated blinds like this model are designed for regular windows and doors rather than unusual shapes. While pleated blinds are often known for their ability to cover shaped windows, that requires specialist shaped systems made specifically for triangles, arches, circles, and other non-standard designs. This particular system is best suited to standard Aluminium windows, doors, and glazed areas where a neat, made-to-measure fit is required.
What's the lifespan of pleated blinds?
Good quality pleated blinds should last 7-10 years minimum and often longer if they’re looked after. The mechanism is simple and robust—there’s not much to go wrong. The fabric can fade over time if it’s in direct harsh sunlight every day, but our quality fabrics are designed to resist fading. The cellular structure might compress slightly over the years if you’re constantly opening and closing them, but it takes ages for that to become noticeable. Treat them gently, keep them clean, and they’ll keep looking good and working properly for years. We’ve seen pleated blinds still going strong after 15 years.
Do pleated blinds work with smart home systems?
Some of them can, yeah. Certain free-hanging and roof-blind systems can be motorised with Somfy motors, which can then be connected to smart home hubs to work with Alexa, Google Home, and other smart home systems. You’d need to add a compatible hub, but once it’s set up, you can control your blinds with voice commands or through an app. It’s particularly useful for roof blinds that are hard to reach, or if you’ve got loads of conservatory blinds you want to control all at once. Motorised pleated blinds are child-safe by design too, which is a bonus. Not all systems can be motorised though, so ask us which ones work if that’s something you’re interested in.
Make Them Even Better
Upgrade to Honeycell Fabrics for significantly better insulation via double-layer pleats/honeycomb air pockets. Ideal for conservatories or rooms needing temperature control; they noticeably reduce heating costs.
For bedrooms, choose Blackout Options to block light through the fabric. Note: some edge leakage is normal in frameless systems.
Motorisation is not available for Frameless blinds. We still happy to discuss other options if you need all your blinds to be motorised.
Use Thermal Fabrics (reflective/thermal-backed) for superior temperature control. These coatings reflect summer heat and trap winter warmth, performing measurably better than standard fabrics, especially in conservatories or south-facing rooms.
Coordinate Across Conservatories by using the same fabric or coordinating colours/functionality (e.g., lighter fabrics north, darker south) for a cohesive, designed look. We offer coordination advice.
